At Lifeswonderful, we are committed to supporting the NHS, charities, and other healthcare organisations in moving closer to their ambitious net-zero carbon emission targets. We believe that every small step counts towards creating a sustainable future, which is why we are excited to offer a new, innovative service: recycling used rubber ferrules from crutches, walking sticks, and walking frames.
How It Works
We are pleased to offer a recycling service to all NHS trusts, healthcare organisations, and charities participating in our preferred supplier programme. Our aim is to reduce waste, conserve natural resources, and support your sustainability goals.
Option 1: Lifeswonderful Ltd as Your Preferred Supplier - Zero Recycling Fee
Lifeswonderful will become your designated "Preferred Supplier" and establishes us as the primary supplier for future orders of rubber ferrules for use on walking frames, crutches, & walking sticks.
To facilitate this process, we provide you with a convenient container for your discarded ferrules, & we’ll arrange collection once it’s full. Our recycling containers can hold approximately 200 ferrules & are designed for multiple uses, making them more sustainable than single-use cardboard boxes.
Each container will ship with a unique serial and tracking number, ensuring full traceability throughout its journey, including to the recycling centre. At the end of this process, you can download a certificate for your records from our website.
With Option 1, there is a £15 delivery charge for each container - and we will arrange collection once it's full. Your collected container will then be used again for the next customer ensuring sustainability. Importantly, with this option, there will be no recycling fee and we are happy to recycle as many ferrules as you require.

Option 2: Continued Use of Your Existing Supplier - Fee Based Recycling Service
If you prefer to continue using your current rubber ferrule supplier, we are still happy to recycle your old & discarded rubber ferrules.
We will provide a convenient container to collect your discarded ferrules and arrange collection once it’s full. Our recycling containers can hold approximately 200 ferrules and are designed for multiple uses, making them more sustainable than single-use cardboard boxes.
Each container will ship with a unique serial & tracking number, allowing for full traceability throughout its journey to the recycling centre. You can download a certificate for your records from our website at the end of this process.
With Option 2, there is a £40 recycling fee in addition to the £15 delivery & collection charge for each container - and we will arrange collection of the box once it's full. Your collected container will then be used again for the next customer ensuring sustainability.
