I have used these ferrules to replace the plastic inserts on the legs of my walker. From being unstable on smooth surfaces it feels very stable on all surfaces.

I used these to replace the worn hard rubber feet on a ladder with a tubular metal frame. They fitted perfectly and give good security on a hard surface. I note that these ferrules are sensibly reinforced internally with substantial penny washers to protect the rubber from being damaged by the metal tubing.
